Il filtro a sacco è il più antico sistema di filtrazione, ma anche il più semplice.
Viene utilizzato per trattare liquidi alimentari come vino, birra, oli vegetali ed altre tipologie di liquidi.
Consente di eliminare le sostanze di una certa consistenza in sospensione che intorbidano i liquidi.
Il filtro è costituito da un sacco di tela di cotone che è a forma conica munito di una manica di cotone con numerose pieghe verticali (filtro olandese).
La filtrazione avviene per caduta naturale e passaggio del mosto o del vino attraverso la tela.
Il filtro olandese viene usato perlopiù nelle piccole cantine per eseguire la filtrazione di mosti e vini molto torbidi o delle fecce.
Serve a filtrare le fecce, i vini molto torbidi o in fermentazione.
