Le lampadine, misura permettendo per l'alloggio all'interno del diffusore, possono essere inserite di qualsiasi wattaggio e potenza. Uno dei vantaggi della lampadina a led è che non riscalda e non rischia di compromettere l'impianto elettrico all'interno del portalampade, a differenza della vecchia lampadina alogena, quindi nessun limite di luminosità.
Le lampadine possono essere acquistate, principalmente, di ben 3 tonalità di luce, calda o caldissima (2700°K-3000°K), luce naturale (4000°K) o fredda (5000°K).
Il lumen (simbolo Lm) misura l'intensità di un flusso luminoso, artificiale o naturale che sia. In semplici parole ci indica la quantità di luce emessa dalla nostra lampadina e ci permette di scegliere il prodotto adatto alle nostre esigenze, considerando fattori come l'altezza dal suolo, l'ampiezza della porzione illuminata e persino l'atmosfera che vogliamo ricreare. Particolare importante per l'acquisto della lampadina.
