La pressione dell'olio permette al cilindro di sollevarsi fino a 90 mm. La vite interna si può allungare ulteriormente ottenendo altri 60 mm di altezza, se si desidera utilizzare questa funzione è necessario allungare la vite prima di alzare il pistone.
Una volta finito il lavoro, per abbassare il pistone occorre svitare la valvola alla base del martinetto in modo da riaprire il circuito e far tornare l'olio all'interno del serbatoio.
