Preparazione e raccolta della patata da seme.
I terreni migliori devono essere sciolti, lavorati in profondità e concimati a dovere.
Quando il germoglio della patata da seme esce dal terreno 10 cm, si eliminano le infestanti rincalzando il terreno ad una altezza di 30-35 cm., evitando che la patata prenda il classico colore verdognolo.
A maturazione avvenuta la pianta inizia ad ingiallire, inizia così il momento migliore per la raccolta.
Quantità e produzione dei tuberi da semina
Si usano circa 25 kg di seme per 100 metri quadrati di terreno.
Con condizioni favorevoli la raccolta si esegue da maggio a settembre a seconda della varietà.
Il raccolto può variare dai 250 ai 500 kg. ogni 100 metri quadrati di terreno.
Distanze di semina
Le varietà di patata precoce si distanziano circa 50-70 cm. tra i solchi e 25-35 cm. sulla fila.
Le varietà tardive invece 60-80 cm. tra i solchi e 35-45 cm sulla fila.
