comunemente chiamato Meyer, d’origine asiatica è stato importato dall’ estremo Oriente dagli Arabi molti secoli fa.
Data la caratteristica del suo colore, si ritiene che provenga dall’ incrocio tra limone e arancio.
La pianta presenta un portamento compatto con chioma ovoidale, le foglie sono verdi scure e semi lucide, con stipole spinose.
I fiori di color bianco puro, sono molto profumati e apprezzati dalle api.
La fioritura in Aprile, Maggio e Settembre.
I frutti maturano da Settembre a Aprile (Invernali) e da Giugno ad Agosto (Verdelli).
Il limone Meyer è indicato per produrre dolci e dessert di ottima qualità basta immaginare la crema inglese la, Lemon Curd.

La pianta resiste fino ad un minimo di -5°C.
Il rinvaso viene effettuato durante l’Autunno e alla fine dell’Inverno.
Al momento del rinvaso e ogni 2 anni va aggiunto del letame per arricchire il terreno di nutrimenti per la pianta
L’ irrigazione è molto importante durante il periodo del rinvaso e durante l’estate.
E’ meglio limitare la potatura perché la pianta mal sopporta tale azione, per questo si consiglia di effettuarla solo quando si decide di eliminare rami secchi o rovinati.
