Il nastro autoagglomerante TS-WULKAN/10 è stato prodotto a base della gomma poliisobutilene. Il nastro è ampiamente utilizzato per sigillare i collegamenti dei cavi in impianti interni ed esterni. La corretta applicazione del nastro garantisce l'impermeabilità totale all'acqua dolce e marina in un intervallo di temperature molto ampio.
Il nastro viene fornito con un separatore di plastica che deve essere rimosso prima di applicare il nastro.
Applicazione corretta del nastro:
Il nastro è privo di adesivo, la sigillatura della giunzione è il risultato dell'autoagglomerazione dei successivi strati del nastro.
Le superfici su cui viene applicato il nastro devono essere pulite, asciutte, prive di polvere, grasso, olio e altri contaminanti.
Il corretto metodo di applicazione consiste nell'avvolgere il nastro (senza la pellicola protettiva) attorno all'oggetto, allungandolo fino al punto in cui la sua larghezza si riduce a circa 2/3 e applicando gli strati successivi con una sovrapposizione del 50%. Ciò garantisce una stretta aderenza del nastro all'oggetto protetto e tra i suoi strati successivi. La tensione del nastro durante l'avvolgimento è molto importante perché garantisce la giusta forza di adesione. A seconda della temperatura dell'ambiente, in poche ore gli strati si agglomerano tra loro ma non sul substrato. Il completo processo di autoagglomerazione richiede circa 24 ore a temperatura ambiente (20°C).
