Sferico, il sapore ricorda quello della rapa e del cavolo. Si consuma cotto come le rape. Si raccoglie in autunno cioè prima che abbia raggiunto il completo sviluppo, altrimenti diventa legnoso; conservare in cantina dopo aver tolto le foglie.
Semina: in semenzaio a intervalli di 3-4 settimane da marzo a giugno per raccolta scalare.
Trapianto: quando le piante possono essere maneggiate, 30 cm. tra le file, 15 cm. sulla fila.
Consigli: irrigare bene e raccogliere in autunno a circa 65 giorni dal trapianto prima che diventi legnoso; conservare in cantina dopo aver tolto tutte le foglie. Coltivare in luoghi freschi per evitare la montata a seme.
