Forse ne avete sentito parlare, l’avete visto da qualche parte o addirittura ne possedete uno.
Non è difficile: il caminetto Franklin è probabilmente il primo e più antico caminetto prefabbricato della storia, e l’unico che abbia retto la sfida di oltre due secoli di progresso tecnologico e venga prodotto ancora oggi senza nessuna sostanziale modifica rispetto al progetto originale.
Il suo inventore è Benjamin Franklin, nativo colono americano, uno dei Padri Fondatori degli Stati Uniti d’America.
Il suo caminetto divenne cosi famoso che ancora oggi la Godin, la più antica fonderia europea che sia ancora in attività (fu fondata negli anni ’40 dell’ottocento, all’alba della rivoluzione siderurgica), ne produce un modello chiamato, come all’origine, “Le Colonial”.
