Un capolavoro dell'arte della ghisa giapponese: il motivo a fiori di camelia è ripreso dalle stoffe tradizionali dei kimono e viene esaltato dal raffinatissimo colore argento satinato.
Le teiere in ghisa sono conosciute in Giappone con il nome tradizionale di tetsu- kyusu , se smaltate internamente e testubin se non smaltate ed adibite alla funzione di bollitore dellacqua per il tè. Non si sa esattamente quando le teiere in ghisa sono apparse in Giappone, ma si pensa che siano strettamente collegate allaffermarsi del tè in foglie fatto per infusione in contrasto con il tè in polvere della cerimonia tradizionale, codificata alla fine del 1500. Ben presto, da semplice oggetto per l'uso domestico, divennero un vero e proprio status symbol, con disegni in rilievo sempre più elaborati. Allinterno della confezione, un foglietto con le istruzioni per la manutenzione ottimale.
