Al raggiungimento della temperatura di esercizio la valvola si apre permettendo lo scarico dell'acqua calda presente in caldaia ed il reintegro con acqua fredda. Grazie ad un elemento sensibile a cera infatti al raggiungimento della temperatura di 95 - °C la valvola apre simultaneamente sia lo scarico dell'acqua calda presente in caldaia sia l'ingresso dell'acqua fredda necessaria a riportare la temperatura dell'acqua presente in caldaia entro i valori prestabiliti di funzionamento. Una volta ripristinata la temperatura di normale esercizio della caldaia la valvola chiude simultaneamente sia ingresso che scarico. ATTENZIONE: questa valvola non sostituisce la valvola di sicurezza.
